Wake County names Teacher of the Year semifinalists
The Wake County Public School System announced 26 semifinalists Monday for its 2015-16 Teacher of the Year Award.

CARY, N.C. — The Wake County Public School System announced 26 semifinalists Monday for its 2015-16 Teacher of the Year Award.
Candidates are nominated by their peers, and the candidates develop portfolios that highlight the work they do and describe their teaching philosophy.
A selection committee chooses 13 finalists who appear before the committee for an interview prior to a winner being chosen. The finalists will be named on April 14, and the winner will be named during an annual school system banquet on May 14.
