Wake Commissioners Approve Line Shift

Posted Updated

RALEIGH, N.C. — Some people will be moving from Franklin County to Wake and some the other way, but no one need hire a moving van. The counties are coming to them.

Wake County commissioners Tuesday approved a revised county line based on modern surveying. It supplants a line drawn early in the 20th century and based on landmarks such as trees, fences and rocks that are no longer in place.

The shift could affect a total of 68 homeowners. At least 26 might have to switch counties completely, moving from Franklin into Wake or vice versa.

Franklin County commissioners have approved the new line already.
