Volunteers put out fireworks fire at Nevada beach

— Volunteers extinguished a fire started by fireworks without the help of authorities.

According to the Sierra Front Interagency Dispatch, crews from the Bureau of Land Management and the Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District were called back Thursday after volunteers were able to control and put out a blaze at Pyramid Lake.

Sierra Front says the fire was reported in the area of Rawhide Beach, a designated fireworks area is in the southwest part of the lake.
