Visit Raleigh parks with a Passport to the Parks

You've got a week left on this one - so it's not too late to take advantage of a fun outdoor activity that celebrates national Park and Recreation Month (and, really, it's never too late to explore a new park in the area).

Raleigh's parks department has a Passport to the Parks this month. It involves picking up a passport at 10 participating locations or downloading an electronic one online.

Then, visit participating locations to get your passport stamped. If you have visited five of the 10 locations, you can register online to win prizes.

Locations are Buffaloe Road Aquatic Center, Annie Louise Wilkerson, MD, Nature Preserve, the City of Raleigh museum, Chavis Park, Lake Johnson Park, Millbrook Exchange Park, Pullen Park, Mordecai Historic Park, Sertoma Arts Center and Walnut Creek Wetland Center.

It's a fun opportunity to explore some of Raleigh's great parks. The city's website has more information.
