Virginia man dies in I-95 wreck

print friendly

A 61-year-old Virginia man died in a wreck on Interstate 95 in Halifax County Sunday afternoon.

State troopers said David Boyd, of Alexandria, lost control of his vehicle while going south on I-95, near N.C. Highway 481, outside Enfield, around 1 p.m. Boyd ran off the road to the left, over-corrected and ran off the left side of the road again, flipping his vehicle.

One other person was injured in the wreck, but that person's identity and extent of injuries was not released.

Both sides of I-95 were shut down for about two hours after the wreck, backing up traffic for up to 15 miles.

Drove up from Florida Saturday night ... was like the I-95 500. They need 3 Lanes so if you want to go the speed limit you can. If you try today ... you will get run over.

I meant connected to the yound Boyd guy on the radio and TV.

Is this the young Boyd Cadillac guy you hear advertising on the TV and radio? I hope not. God Bless the family whoever.

People drive way too fast on this road.

I wonder if speed was a factor in this. Terrible as this is a holiday weekend! Terrible anytime this happens.
