Virginia fugitive arrested in Halifax County

— A 19-year-old Weldon man wanted on charges in Virginia was arrested in Halifax County Thursday, according to the sheriff's office.

Detective Sgt. Doug Pilgreen arrested Raymond Abray Mills on a fugitive warrant.

Mills is wanted by the Newport News police for failing to appear in court on a charge of manufacturing and distributing drugs.

He was being held in the Halifax County Jail without bond.

According to state Department of Correction records, Mills was put on probation last September for resisting an officer in Halifax County.

    Wow! Since this practically never happens, I can't believe the story didn't make national news. WRAL, y'all really need to dig deeper for newsworthy stories.
