Legend continues to live on in Nash County

This Nash County legend began in 1820 when a woman traveling by carriage stopped at the small crossroads community of Samaria. Fearful her newborn baby would not survive the rest of her journey, she found the Brantley family to care for the child. When asking for the child's name, the woman said "love it, just love it." The woman never returned, and the community named the child Lovette. He became a man, married and had children. His descendants still live in Samaria.
