A Harnett County man has been accused of killing his sister-in-law and nephew who were found dead in their house near Coats.

COATS, N.C. — A Harnett County man has been accused of killing his sister-in-law and nephew who were found dead in their house near Coats.

John David Walter Haughton, 51, has been in the hospital since the shooting on Friday, but will be charged with two counts of first-degree murder upon his release, the Harnett County Sheriff's Office announced Sunday.

Haughton is accused of shooting his sister-in-law, 45-year-old Roxanne M. Haughton, and nephew, 24-year-old Richard Michael Miller, inside the home that they shared at 861 Johnson Road.

No other details, including a possible motive, have been released.
