Victims of Fayetteville melee identified
Cumberland County investigators on Friday released the names of two people who were shot during a Wednesday night melee on Dunn Road.
Posted — UpdatedBrandon Nunnery, 19, of the 3300 block of Attica Road in Fayetteville, was in stable condition Friday at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. He was shot in the abdomen with a handgun.
J. Billy Ford, 27, of the 2000 block of Simon Street in Fayetteville, was listed in very serious condition at a Charlotte hospital. He was being treated for a shotgun wound to the upper portion of his body.
Deputies were called to 839 Dunn Road shortly before 7 p.m. Wednesday after gunfire was reported. A long-standing argument between two large groups of people resulted in the shooting.
The case remains under investigation.
