Vermont urges towns to document road projects before snow
Posted November 21
MONTPELIER, Vt. — The Vermont Agency of Transportation is urging municipalities to start planning now for road projects that could be eligible for grants that support the use of erosion control and maintenance techniques to save money while protecting Vermont's lake and streams.
The agency anticipates that grant applications for the Better Roads Program will be accepted between Jan. 23 and March 17, 2007.
Municipalities are urged to start planning now by taking color photographs of the proposed project and surrounding area; taking field measurements; and possibly requesting technical assistant from Better Roads staff.
