Verizon users see problems with calling

An outage map published by downdetector.com showed widespread issues with Verizon service March 22 centered over the Carolinas.

Verizon users up and down the East Coast were reporting more dropped calls than usual Wednesday morning.

The report of problems spiked just after 10 a.m. and appeared to have tailed off by 2 p.m.

Verizon said the bulk of the problems was with calling features – placing calls and staying connected.

There were not widespread reports of problems with internet access on Verizon's network.
