Vance County sheriff's deputies are investigating the death of Joseph Arrington Davis III, of 4489 Stagecoach Road in Oxford.

OXFORD, N.C. — Vance County sheriff's deputies are investigating the death of Joseph Arrington Davis III, of 4489 Stagecoach Road in Oxford.

Davis' nephew, Brandon Davis, found him dead in his home Saturday evening. He appeared to have two gunshot wounds, investigators said, but the time and date of his death were unclear.

Several witnesses reported seeing Davis alive on Nov. 26, two days before he was found.

Investigators are continuing the search for a suspect and a motive in Davis's death.
