GARNER, N.C. — A woman in Virginia who was arrested on sex charges involving a 14-year-old boy has been extradited back to North Carolina.

Lisa Shell Hess, 35, of 381 Wysor Valley Road, Honaker, Va., was arrested last week in Russell County, Va., on three counts of statutory rape and two counts of sex offense with a child.

The charges stem from allegations that Hess had sex with a 14-year-old Florida boy who was visiting family in Garner over the summer.

Garner police said Hess is a friend of the boy's family.

Search warrants in the case indicate that the boy's parents found sexually explicit text messages and photos on the boy's cellphone and similar messages on Facebook.

Hess was in the Wake County jail Thursday under a $7 million bond.
