Va. man indicted in Southern Pines rape

A grand jury indicted a 25-year-old Virginia man for a rape investigated by Southern Pines police.

Philip Duncan Cohrs, 25, of 21216 McFayden Square #106 in Sterling, Va., surrendered to Southern Pines police Thursday. Corhs faces one charge of second-degree rape.

Police received a report about the rape on July 1. After an investigation, a Moore County grand jury indicted Cohrs.

Cohrs was being held in the Wake County Jail under a $15,000 secured bond. His first court appearance was set for Nov. 17.

    What puzzles me is why would a man fom Virginia travel to North Carolina to commit second degree rape.

    I am beginning to believe that he came to NC to meet a women that he knows and something went wrong. But rape is rape if it isn't consensual so there you go.

    The Pilot says he is in Moore County jail, so who knows....

    The rape was investigated by the SP police and indicted by a Moore County jury. Why's this guy in jail in Wake?
