Va. man dies at Lake Gaston
A Virginia man died Friday in an apparent swimming accident at Lake Gaston, authorities said.

LITTLETON, N.C. — A Virginia man died Friday in an apparent swimming accident at Lake Gaston, authorities said.
Halifax County Sheriff Wes Tripp said deputies responded to an emergency call in the Eastern Shores neighborhood near Littleton and found Alex Habel, 20, of Midlothian, Va., dead.
Investigators think Habel used a rope tied to a tree to swing into the lake. He was found on a rock.
Tripp said deputies and officers with the state Wildlife Resources Commission are continuing to investigate the incident.
