US Navy sailor from NC dies during Mediterranean operation
A 24-year-old U.S. Navy airman from North Carolina died from a non-combat-related injury during an operation in the Mediterranean Sea, according to the Department of Defense.

RALEIGH, N.C. — A 24-year-old U.S. Navy airman from North Carolina died from a non-combat-related injury during an operation in the Mediterranean Sea, according to the Department of Defense.
Aviation Boatswain's Mate (Fuels) Airman Devon M. Faulkner died on Sept. 20, but the department did not release the cause of his death. The incident is still under investigation.
Faulkner was assigned to the USS Wasp, and he was supporting Operation Odyssey Lightning.
Officials did not say where Faulkner was from in North Carolina.
