UPDATE: Flooding highlights need for fix in northwest Las Vegas
UPDATE AT 7 P.M. The Regional Flood Control District says they're working on a fix to prevent the flooding and debris from the storms. A new $4.2 million drainage system would divert water into basins.

LAS VEGAS, NV — UPDATE AT 7 P.M. The Regional Flood Control District says they're working on a fix to prevent the flooding and debris from the storms. A new $4.2 million drainage system would divert water into basins.
UPDATE AT 6 P.M. Cottonwood Cove Access Road has reopened in the Lake Mead National Recreation Area, but other roads, including Willow Beach, Temple Bar and Nelson Landing remain closed.
UPDATE AT 12:40 P.M. Cottonwood Cove Access Road in the Lake Mead National Recreation Area is closed as a result of debris from the storm. Willow Beach and Temple Bar roads remain closed.
