Spotty storms cause severe thunderstorm warnings for central NC
Spotty thunderstorms dropped moderate to heavy rain throughout central North Carolina Monday afternoon.

Severe thunderstorm warnings were issued for Vance and Granville counties until 6:30 p.m. A warning for Person County was canceled.
A brief downpour will cool the air but will leave it much more humid, WRAL meteorologist Nate Johnson said.
The seven-day forecast reads like a song played on repeat: Partly cloudy with a chance of thunderstorms each day this week.
"Everyday this week features a chance for thunderstorms, especially a good chance tomorrow, Wednesday and Thursday," Maze said. "If you've been begging for rain, well there it is."
As the cold front stalls in the area, mostly cloudy skies will dominate along with a chance of off-and-on showers and thunderstorms, especially in the afternoon and evening.
The clouds will hold temperatures in check; highs will be in the mid 80s, and even lower on Wednesday, WRAL meteorologist Elizabeth Gardner said.
The humidity will remain high throughout the week.
