— A student at Centennial Campus Magnet Middle School in Raleigh was found to have an unloaded gun Wednesday, the Wake County Sheriff's Office said.

Someone tipped the school resource officer to the presence of the gun at the school and it was found in the student's possession.

The sheriff's office did not release the identity of the student, who is a juvenile.

Principal Edye Morris-Bryant was sending a letter home to parents about the incident.

“I think the cops should visit the parents for child endangerment.” Wouldn’t it be a good idea to find out where the kid procured the gun from first ? Maybe the student got it from another student, family member not living in the student’s home, found it, etc. Before slapping the cuffs on the parents some facts would be beneficial - sheesh!
