UNC student robbed near campus arboretum

— A University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill student was robbed early Friday near the campus arboretum on Cameron Avenue, campus police said in an alert posted the school's website. 

The victim told police that they were approached by four men at about 1 a.m. The suspects did not have weapons and were last seen running north toward the UNC campus. 

No other information was released.

Anyone with information about the robbery should call UNC campus police at 919-962-8100.

    Yeah, it make you think that we need a "gun free nation" like Japan where there are very few if any gun deaths.

    Right. Fayetteville and Durham are so much safer than the UNC campus.

    Under-cops is warranted to catch these criminals on this campus. All students and staff should be safe at all times.

    "No other information was released."? Not so as the same report stated "The victim, a UNC student, described the suspects as four Black males in tee-shirts and jeans, who fled the scene on foot towards the campus."

    I still do not understand why AlertCarolina takes nearly three hours to send out a notice to students. This happened at 1 am and I got the message right before 4 am. If the police were able to notify students earlier, perhaps the suspects could be caught, especially if they ran towards campus. I'd imagine that many people were still outside returning to their dorms after Halloween last night.
