UNC President to review campus policies

Chapel Hill, N.C. — UNC President Tom Ross said Friday that he would launch a campus security initiative across the UNC system to address growing concerns about safety issues.
The initiative will focus on the University's policies and procedures for responding to sexual assault, harassment, and other crimes reported on campus. The plan will also identify better ways to prevent crimes in order to better protect students and staff.
This initiative comes after a recent federal investigation into how UNC handled sexual assault complaints and questions surrounding campus police at Elizabeth City State University.
