UNC alum, ESPN anchor Stuart Scott to be honored Friday
Late ESPN anchor and shameless University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill alum Stuart Scott will be honored Friday night before his beloved Tar Heels kick off the basketball season at the annual "Late Night with Roy" celebration.
Posted — UpdatedCHAPEL HILL, N.C. — Late ESPN anchor and shameless University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill alum Stuart Scott will be honored Friday night before his beloved Tar Heels kick off the basketball season at the annual "Late Night with Roy" celebration.
Scott, who died after a long battle with cancer in January, had hosted the event at total of 10 times, starting in 2001. He'll be inducted into the North Carolina Journalism Hall of Fame.
Capitol Broadcasting Co., the parent company of WRAL-TV and WRALSportsFan.com, where Scott worked in one of his first broadcast jobs, is underwriting the event.
