Uber offers riders prizes during holiday season

Those who contract a ride with Uber over the next 12 days have the opportunity to win prizes including tickets to concerts and sporting events, celebrity meet-and-greets, restaurant gift certificates and free rides.

Those who contract a ride with Uber over the next 12 days have the opportunity to win prizes including tickets to concerts and sporting events, celebrity meet-and-greets, restaurant gift certificates and free rides.

The big winner will be the Triangle rider who takes the most Uber trips in 12 days. That person will earn a month of free rides.

“We’re incredibly excited to celebrate North Carolina and give back to our riders during the holiday season," said Arathi Mehrotra, general manager of Uber NC. "Starting Thursday, riders across the Triangle and in Charlotte will have a chance to win some amazing local giveaways and experiences every day for 12 days, including Carrie Underwood concert tickets, Belk Bowl passes, a special prize pack with Greg Olsen and much more.”

Daily prizes begin Thursday, and they will be publicized via a message in the Uber app, on the Uber blog, Uber on TwitterTwitter and Instagram. Riders simply open the app and choose the “12 DAYS” option to be eligible for that day's prize.

Winners will be notified by phone. Because many prizes are time-sensitive, Uber users need to be prepared to claim their prize or pass it on to another rider.
