Two wounded in shooting during Labor Day party in Pitt County

Two men were wounded early Saturday in a shooting at a home in rural Pitt County, the sheriff's office said.

FARMVILLE, N.C. — Two men were wounded early Saturday in a shooting at a home in rural Pitt County, the sheriff’s office said.

Pitt County deputies responded to 6127 Statonsburg Road at about 4 a.m. According to investigators, Travails Markeel McMillian, 23, and Chavier Jevon Harris, 32, were shot during a Labor Day party.

McMillian was shot three times, and Harris was shot once. Both men were taken to Vidant Medical Center in Greenville by private vehicles.

Both men were in surgery late Saturday morning.

About 75 people were at the party at the time of the shooting. Investigators did not release any information about the cause of the shooting. No arrests have been made.

Crime Stoppers is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.
