Judges will not back up law enforcement.

Most judges are elected. Do you know anything about the judges you vote for at election time? I doubt many do. We have the government WE allow.

Given that the jail popuation in the US is by far the highest in the world per capita and crime levels are about the same (apart for murder, which is more a statement about lethality of guns over criminality) as those of the UK.......it seems judges and juries are doing their job with enthusiasm.

True, what we have found is that it keeps a designated driver honest if they are packing as they don't have any alcohol. None of that, I've have a couple and still be legal to drive.

If I'm legally able to carry, I'm carrying. Whether that be at Red Lobster, Olive Garden, Applebees, or my local favorite Mexican joint. If I'm not consuming alcohol, I'm packing heat.

This begs the question -- do those wiling to use a firearm in a bar honestly care about whether or not it's legal to carry in the bar?? Last I heard it was illegal to kill people, so I'm guessing anyone willing to break one law won't worry much about a lesser law.

100 million legal firearms owners killed no one yesterday ...

What happened to the 3 strikes and you're out?

That's in Cali... never has been the case here in NC.

That's what I though two but it does appear we do have a form of this law.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Three-strikes_law

The following states have enacted three-strikes laws:
In 1994: California, Colorado, Connecticut, Indiana, Kansas, Maryland, New Mexico, North Carolina, Virginia, Louisiana, Wisconsin, Tennessee, and Georgia

It doesn't seem to me to be enforced though.

Some hints to the crime: "Sports Bar". No real sports occur in one of these, just people drinking heavily while yelling insults across the table or room at others who root for the opposite team. "3 AM".. WHO in their right mind is out at 3 AM in the first place? And if they are at a bar, chances are they are polluted and probably not in a real understanding mood if offended. "Shot". Guns in or around an establishment serving alcohol? I know we've passed laws making it legal to carry firearms in businesses such as this, but really, do folks who, having consumed alcohol or those interacting with people who have consumed alcohol really need to have a gun present? Finally. "Yadkin Road". Not the most upscale place to have a bar.

It's the same with drug dealers. I personally know of a man in Rocky Mount, who has been arrested and convicted of trafficking in heroin, some 4 or 5 times now. He was arrested early this week again, and was given a $50,000 bond. What happened to the 3 strikes and you're out? This guy sells to anyone that wants his drugs, including people under the age of 18. So why the low bond? They give pot dealers more of a bond than this.
