Two women shot in Sanford

— Two women found in a vehicle early Saturday had been shot, Sanford police said.

Officers responded to calls about a shooting discovered the women in a vehicle at Hickory Avenue and Seventh Street shortly before 2:30 a.m.

One woman had been shot in the chest, and the other in the chest and right arm, investigators said. One victim was airlifted to WakeMed in Raleigh, and the second to UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill.

Police said they continued to investigate the shooting.

    This really saddens and scares me. I live in Sanford, and we have been in the news so much lately for bad things like this.

    really nice neighborhood....i am sure drugs weren't an issue at 2:00 am.....by the way this is the same area where the Sanford police officer had to kill the man the other day who attacked him with a "stick" and everyone was bashing him. this is a crime infested area and it sickens me to see this sort of activity in my home town. and i sickens me even more to see some of the posts that were posted concerning the officers actions the other day.
