RALEIGH, N.C. — Three people were taken to the hospital Saturday morning after a two-vehicle crash involving a three-wheeled motorcycle.

The wreck happened around 5:30 a.m. on Wake Forest Road near New Hope Church Road, according to Raleigh police. One of the vehicles involved was a 2016 Polaris Slingshot, a three-wheeled motorcycle, driven by 39-year-old Kevin Jamel Mickens, police said.

Isham Hudson, 87, was driving a 2006 Toyota when Mickens tried to take a left turn in front of Hudson.

Both drivers and a second passenger on the motorcycle were taken to WakeMed to be treated for their injuries. Mickens sustained the most serious injuries, police said.

The road reopened around 8 a.m.
