Two 16-year-old boys are awaiting extradition to North Carolina from Virginia after being arrested Thursday in connection with an armed robbery in Roanoke Rapids in which the victim says he was beaten with a handgun.
Donavan Edwards, of Roanoke Rapids, and Sequan Carter, of Littleton, were arrested in Emporia, Va., the Halifax County Sheriff's Office said Friday.
A third person, Jeremiah Mangum, 23, of Roanoke Rapids, is still at large.
Investigators said that the victim in the robbery chased the men from the Brandy Creek area of Roanoke Rapids onto Interstate 95 before someone shot at his vehicle.
The victim was taken to Halifax Regional Medical Center for his injuries.
