Two students accused of having weapons at Wakefield High School

An 18-year-old and a 16-year-old face weapons charges after being arrested Friday after he allegedly carried weapons on the campus of Wakefield High School.

RALEIGH, N.C. — An 18-year-old and a 16-year-old each face weapons charges after being arrested Friday on charges they allegedly carried weapons onto the campus of a Raleigh high school.

Justin Lashawn Bland, 18, of 10209 Riverstone Place, faces two counts of possession of a weapon on school property and one count of carrying a concealed weapon.

An arrest warrant accuses Bland of having a black CBG .177 caliber BB pistol and a concealed fixed-blade knife at Wakefield High School, at 2200 Wakefield Pines Drive.

Daquail Alexander, 16, of 2801 Crystal Oaks Lane, was arrested on one count of possession of a weapon on school property for allegedly having a Crosman Survivalist BB gun, according to an arrest warrant.

Stella Shelton, a spokeswoman for the Wake County Public School System, said Bland and Alexander are both students at the school.

Bland was in the Wake County Detention Center under a $2,000 secured bond Sunday. Alexander was jailed under a $1,000 secured bond.
