Two stabbed during disturbance at Fayetteville club

Posted June 20, 2013

— Two people were taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center early Thursday after a stabbing in the parking lot of a Fayetteville club, police said.

Officers responded to Club Xscape, at 1940 Skibo Road, about 2:15 a.m. after receiving a call about a large disturbance.

After they arrived, officers learned that two people had been taken from the club's parking lot to the hospital with stab wounds. They were identified as Kevin Bruton, 28, of Glen Reilly Drive, and Vernon Lawrence, 23, of Seabrook Road. The men were listed in fair condition Thursday.

Investigators had detained people in connection with the stabbing but released them after determining they were not responsible.

Anyone with information about the stabbing should call the Fayetteville Police Department at 910-433-1856 or Crime Stoppers at 910-483-8477.
