FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Cumberland County authorities are seeking the public's help to find two men wanted in connection with a string of break-ins in the Grays Creek and Cedar Creek subdivisions southeast of Fayetteville.

According to investigators, Steven Lee Nicholas Dawkins, of 7628 Dome Road, Hope Mills, and Steven Nicolas Taylor, of 3632 Shem Creek Drive, Fayetteville, have taken property from nearly a dozen homes.

Authorities said the men wait until people leave their homes and then enter them by kicking down the front door. Some of the items taken from homes include guns, electronics, clothing and jewelry.

Dawkins, 21, and Taylor, 20, are charged with multiple counts of felony breaking and entering, larceny, possession of stolen goods and obtaining property by false pretenses.

Both men are considered armed and dangerous, authorities said.
