Two sought in latest American Tobacco Trail attack

Police on Tuesday released descriptions of two men wanted in connection with an assault and robbery of a man Saturday afternoon on Durham's American Tobacco Trail.

DURHAM, N.C. — Police on Tuesday released descriptions of two men wanted in connection with an assault and robbery of a man Saturday afternoon on Durham's American Tobacco Trail.

The man told police he was walking between the South Street and Lawson Street entrances around 12:30 p.m. when two black men wearing red T-shirts and shorts approached him, hit him with a stick and fled with $13.

One of the men was between 18 and 20 years old and stood 5 feet 8 inches tall. The other was between 20 and 25 years old, had a dark complexion, a slim face and dreadlocks.

Saturday's attack was the latest in a series assaults and robberies on the trail, but there have been no serious injuries reported.
