Two sought in Hope Mills store robbery

Hope Mills police are looking for two men suspected of robbing a Kangaroo convenience store early Monday.

HOPE MILLS, N.C. — Hope Mills police are looking for two men suspected of robbing a Kangaroo convenience store early Monday.

Investigators said that the robbery happened sometime between 12:30 a.m. and 12:42 a.m. at the store at South Main Street and Cameron Road.

Both men were black, in their late 20s or early 30s and stood 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall.

One robber, who police say forced the store clerk behind the counter and forced him to hand over money from the cash register, weighed about 180 to 200 pounds and had a mustache and goatee.

He was wearing a black Red Sox baseball cap, a dark do-rag, a black tank T-shirt, blue jeans and dark shoes. He was also wearing two or three gold chains and was armed with a silver revolver.

The other man weighed about 160 to 180 pounds and was wearing a dark Cincinnati Reds cap with a red bill, a white tank T-shirt, blue jeans and white shoes.
