— Hope Mills police are looking for two men suspected of robbing a Kangaroo convenience store early Monday.

Investigators said that the robbery happened sometime between 12:30 a.m. and 12:42 a.m. at the store at South Main Street and Cameron Road.

Both men were black, in their late 20s or early 30s and stood 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall.

One robber, who police say forced the store clerk behind the counter and forced him to hand over money from the cash register, weighed about 180 to 200 pounds and had a mustache and goatee.

He was wearing a black Red Sox baseball cap, a dark do-rag, a black tank T-shirt, blue jeans and dark shoes. He was also wearing two or three gold chains and was armed with a silver revolver.

The other man weighed about 160 to 180 pounds and was wearing a dark Cincinnati Reds cap with a red bill, a white tank T-shirt, blue jeans and white shoes.

Police want anyone with information about the robbery to contact the Hope Mills Police Department at 910-425-4103.

One of the causes of Prison overcrowding, and violent criminals released too early is that the prisons are full of non-violent drug offenders. There are so many cases of people committing very violent crimes (murder, assault, robbery rape etc.) and then only getting 2 - 5 years in Jail, while a kid busted at a Phish show for having drugs gets put away for 10+ years. It just doesn't make sense. Every time I read a story like the guy accused of killing Erica Cherie Gainey, where he got 2 years (for a different crime than Gainey) for assaulting a girlfriend so badly it put her in a coma for years and eventually killed her, I think of replying "Well if he had had drugs on him he would be put away for much longer". I am not saying that Drugs are all good for society, but they don't put people on the same level with cold blooded, violent criminals.

Another option to the HIGH cost of more jails is readily available by doing a Google search for Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpiao. He has 2000 prisoners in tents without A/C in 100+ temps and has no sympathy for them. Too many times there are too many bleeding hearts that say putting them in tents and on cots is cruel. Well, look what they have done to get there. Joe used the comparison of our soldiers in Iraq in full gear sleeping the same way without committing a crime, told the to shut up! Get tough legal, act like an animal, get treated like one!

BTW, he's wearing a Chicago White Sox hat, not a Boston Red Sox one (like the article says).

As a Vietnam era vet, I have serious problems with the donors and recipients that are called their parents... however, Catch & release is a by-product of our unwillingness to pay more taxes to build and maintain prisons. any other options available ??

The Pics are no good, I guess the only camera they are concerned about is the one watching the employee. Please invest in better cameras, if you are going to rely on the public to help you catch the bad guys.

I've never understood the mentality of convenience store owners. An iPhone 4 has a 5 megapixel camera. The upcoming Droid Bionic will have an 8 megapixel HD camera. The HTC EVO 3D has 2 5 megapixel cameras that together produce a 3D image. These are things I can carry IN MY POCKET. Why aren't banks, stores, gas stations, etc upgrading to HD quality? You can't see ANYTHING with those 1970's era cameras hanging from the ceiling.

with the juries lately, I'd be surprised if these guys are convicted. The picture is not clear enough--or we'll read the Cary Police created this picture and inserted it into the store's security system. It's all a conspiracy to convict innocent people, like these guys. You know, they come from a broken home, blah blah blah

What part of get a job or go to school and get a degree do these guys not understand. I am so sick of this. I hope they are caught and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
