Two sought in attempted robbery, shooting at Raleigh hotel

Police are asking for the public's help identifying two people caught on surveillance video who are wanted for shooting a man during an attempted robbery at a northeast Raleigh hotel earlier this month.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Police are asking for the public's help identifying two people caught on security video who are wanted for shooting a man during an attempted robbery. 

The crime happened at the Extended Stay America, at 2601 Appliance Court in northeast Raleigh, around 4:20 a.m. on Dec. 7, when the 27-year-old victim was entering a side door of the hotel.

He was shot in the stomach during a struggle. Authorities have not said if the three men know one another.

The would-be robbers left separately – one in a dark SUV and the second on foot.

One of the men, caught on video with the victim, is in his 20s and stands about 5 feet 5 inches tall. He is black, has a medium skin tone and medium-length dreadlocks, and he was wearing a red, white and blue hooded sweatshirt with the word "NATION" on its front.

The second man is also in his 20s and stands about 6 feet tall. He, too, is black, has a medium skin tone and shoulder-length dreadlocks. He was wearing dark clothing with a white long-sleeved shirt under a short-sleeved shirt.
