Security video captured the men stealing around 4:15 a.m. at Raleigh Gold and Estate Jewelry, at 10251-108 Little Brier Creek Lane, police said.

One of the men is wearing a black jacket with a large white logo on its left front and green trousers that appear to have multiple pockets that zip shut. Police said he is white and of an unknown ethnicity

The second man is black and has a beard. He was wearing a red hooded jacket and a black baseball cap with what appears to be the letter "H" on it.

There are more shootings in Durham county than Wake county, yet 5 times as many people have gun permits in Wake county ... 3k in durham vs. 15k in wake.

What does shooting and gun permits have to do with another robbery in Raleigh as my comment pertained too. You can drag all the stats and twist them as you may but Durham has seen a decrease of 8% while Raleigh has seen a increase of 4%. Crime calls in 18 days show Raleigh having 8 times the number of calls in a county 2x times the size but its still way safer in Raleigh of being a victim of crime?? The term Violent crime is the following: violent crime is composed of four offenses: murder and nonnegligent manslaughter, forcible rape, robbery, and aggravated assault. Violent crimes are defined as those offenses which involve force or threat of force. Its just not shootings as you are trying hard to compare Durhams to Raleigh's. Check spotcrime for the recent reports for THIS yr and not the 2011/2012 reports.

your wrong about crime statistics. Raleigh is a larger city than Durham but the crime is significantly much worse in Durham, especially where 'violent' crime is concerned. Looking at the public reports from the NCDOJ http://crimereporting.ncdoj.gov/Reports.aspx

You need to look carefully. Sure Raleigh had more crime. But if you're comparing stealing a piece of bubble gum to rape ... I'm sorry, Durham has Raleigh beat straight up, and compared to size, its by a mile!

Wow, brilliant observation Phyxius. Now get back to your fine city and the 32 homicides to date. WRAL posted an article in July Durham police: 2013 homicides up, all involve young black males.

Hoe does a observation of another ROBBERY in Raleigh compare to the murder rate in Durham. Seems like you missed the point of the comment. If you want to compare stats though here is something to look at. From 12/1-12/18 of 2013 as reported on SpotCrime. Durham had 395 assorted crime reports. Raleigh with a county size double that of Durham ( as people like to point out all the time in these stats ) had 8x the number of reports with 3071 assorted crime reports. Shouldn't that be a huge cause of concern? Double the size but 8 times the crimes reported. I'm not saying Durham doesn't have its crime in certain areas but others forget whats happening in their own back yards. SO when I stated more robberies in Raleigh and it gets worse this time of yr I wasn't far off.

No one with a rational mind would think that.

ThePunisher - "I see they have the Trayvon Martin hoodie look going on"

    Oh please...

    I'm a 66-year old, 5'2" white woman who's worn a black hoodie for decades.

So drop the Trayvon Martin slams. k Cause if a black hoodie was all it took, I'd have been gone long ago.

    Hmmm...

I wonder what the employees of that store thought when someone wearing a ski mask walked in.

    "Happy Halloween" !?!

    I mean really.

Did no one there have a firearm to keep them away, or to at least hold them until the law got there? Was there no alarm someone could activate???

Still, blessed no one was hurt, and praying the law gets them quickly.
