"The suspect, described as a young black male wearing a white T-shirt and black hat"

It just figures that those racists over at the N&O would print this. Appalling!

This is America. We should be able to go out at any time of day that we want, shouldn't we? Last I checked, Marshall Law hasn't been declared yet.

Of course, it being America, you can also carry a gun. Which I highly recommend.

I think there should be an economic pain factored into crimes when deciding whether the criminal, upon conviction, should receive the death penalty.

These two victims are going to cost their health insurers a lot of money for their treatment (if they don't have insurance, they'll cost someone else). Obviously when you shoot someone with a gun, you intend to kill them. So why should the perp only get a few years in prison when the intent was to kill and he caused so much pain and economic hardship? If convicted by a jury of his peers, kill him.

Add attempted murder to the crimes eligible for the death penalty. And add crimes costing over $250k as well. Society can't afford this stuff anymore.

Nothing good happens anywhere at 2:30am. Chapel Hill has its fair amount of illegal activity going on whether you want to believe it or not. Violence isn't just shooting - plenty of rape happens close to a college campus. There are areas of CH, just like other cities, that are sketchy and you know not to frequent, especially at night. I get tired of the blame game on here... people always trying to point fingers at Durham. I agree with whoever said CH needs to take responsibility.
