Two shot during altercation in Fayetteville; woman charged

— Cumberland County authorities charged a Fayetteville woman on Wednesday in connection with an attempted armed robbery and altercation that left two people suffering from gunshot wounds. 

Ashley Michelle Emerick, 24, of 3253 Wayne Lane, is charged with attempted armed robbery and felony conspiracy. According to investigators, Emerick tried to collect a $20 loan from a victim at about 9 p.m. Tuesday. 

During the altercation, two people suffered non-life-threatening gunshot wounds, investigators said. 

No other information about the shooting, including where it occurred, was released.

Emerick was in the Cumberland County jail Wednesday under a $10,000 secured bond.

    I am sure for $20. she can get a great lawyer. Oops we will be paying that if she cannot afford an attorney. Folks use to be a saying Don't lend money to friends. If they need it give it to them and hope they return it. Is a friend worth losing over $20.00?
