FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Two men were injured in two shootings in the same block of Raeford Road early Saturday, Fayetteville police said.

Around 2 a.m., officers were called to a shooting at 6323 Raeford Road, but when they arrived, the victim had already driven himself to Cape Fear Valley Hospital. Joseph Cason, 17, was treated for a gunshot wound to the leg and released.

About 15 minutes after the first shooting, officers responding to a minor wreck at 6261 Raeford Road found that one of the drivers involved had been shot in the head, police said.

William Trower, 18, was taken to Cape Fear Valley Hospital and then transported to UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill. He was listed in critical condition Saturday evening.

Police said they were investigating if the shootings were related.
