Two Raleigh roads closed due to fire

— Parts of Edenton Street and New Bern Avenue were closed on Tuesday night due to a house fire in the area, Raleigh police said.

The fire broke out at a boarding house at 903 New Bern Ave.  just after 7 p.m., police said. No one was injured.

It is unclear what caused the fire.

The American Red Cross was helping the three adults who were displaced by the fire.

    Another report says that the residents heard an explosion from the back of the house and "Residents inside the house, located at the intersection of New Bern Avenue and Edenton Street near downtown Raleigh, said flames were so intense that neighbors could feel the heat from across the street."
