Two Orange County banks robbed

— A Chapel Hill bank and another bank in Hillsborough were robbed Tuesday, authorities said.

The CommunityOne Bank branch at 102 Millstone Drive in Hillsborough was robbed at about noon, and a BB&T branch at 143 E. Rosemary St. in Chapel Hill was held up at about 4:15 p.m.

Police haven't released a description of the robber in either case.

The North Carolina Bankers Association offers a reward for information leading to the arrest and indictment of anyone responsible for robbing a bank in the state.

Anyone with information concerning a bank robbery, should contact the FBI, confidentially and toll-free, at 1-800-209-2293. Tips are also accepted online.

    the CH robbery is the work of the serial robber from Durham & Raleigh. The other one is a white male, ordered everyone into the vault. Thank God no one was hurt, I used to work at the one in Hillsborough and still have friends there.

    At least they finally caught the energizer bunny yesterday in Hillsborough. He was charged with battery and released on bond.

    luckn4u2: What in the world are you talking about? People rob banks whether the economy is good and bad. There's no excuse for doing something that is wrong like that.
