— Police on Tuesday arrested two more people in connection with a shooting in Fayetteville last week that left a 19-year-old dead.

Demetrius Andre Hammond, 19, of Belhaven Road, and Kevin Cornelius Cox, 23, of Windy Birch Circle, were charged with first-degree murder in the Oct. 19 death of Guy Leon Mitchell.

Police responding to a reported shooting at 818 Rembrandt Drive found Mitchell wounded in the home. He was taken to Cape Fear Valley Hospital, where he died.

On Friday, Rajeen McMillan, 19, of Clarksville Court, and Fletcher Terry McLean II, 22, no address available, were charged with first-degree murder and conspiracy in Mitchell's death. Shauntell Surles, no age or address available, was arrested Saturday on the same charges.

All five people are being held in the Cumberland County Detention Center.

Investigators haven't released other details of the case, including a possible motive and what evidence linked the five suspects to the crime.

Maybe to save time and money we should just make them do 1 - 2 years as soon as they become teenagers. Maybe that will get through to them?????

Look carefully at face and eyes of this individual. No emotion, no concern--just defiance. What have we as a culture done to produce a generation like this???
