— Fayetteville police were searching Monday for three people they believe beat a man in a field off Andy Street and then fled in a gray 60s model Dodge or Plymouth sedan last month.

Around 10 p.m. on Oct. 20, officers were dispatched to the field, between Ike and Gavin streets, where they found the injured man. The victim, whose name and condition were not released, was hospitalized.

Police believe three people were involved in the assault: a black man, 5 feet 5 inches tall with a medium build and long dreadlocks, a black man, about 6 feet tall, and a tall, thin black woman who appeared to be pregnant.

Anyone with information is asked to call detectives at 910-433-1856 or Crime Stoppers at 910-483-TIPS.

A 60's Grey Dodge should stick out like a sore thumb. It's hard to hide a Tuna Boat in a Marina full of canoes.
