Two killed, one wounded in shooting near Wendell; man arrested

Two people were killed and another was wounded late Wednesday in a shooting at a home at 1125 Lake Glad Road near Wendell, the Wake County Sheriff's Office confirmed Thursday.

WENDELL, N.C. — Two people were killed and another was wounded late Wednesday in a shooting at a home at 1125 Lake Glad Road near Wendell, the Wake County Sheriff's Office confirmed Thursday.

According to investigators, Nathan Holden, 31, shot Latonya Holden, Angelia Smith Taylor, and Sylvester Taylor, at about 9:45 p.m. Wednesday evening.

Angelia Taylor, 57, was found dead inside the home, and Sylvester Taylor, 66, was found dead in the yard, the sheriff's office said. Latonya Holden, 32, was taken to WakeMed.

After responding to the home on Lake Glad Road, deputies learned that Nathan Holden had returned to his home at 3535 Holden Acres Lane, about 10 miles away.

When they arrived at the home, a K-9 unit was used to track Holden to a nearby field. According to investigators, Holden opened fire on the K-9 handler and other deputies before being taken into custody at about 3 a.m.

No deputies were injured in the incident.

Charges are pending against Holden, who was in custody early Thursday. Authorities have not commented on how Holden may have been related to the victims.

No other information about the investigation has been released.
