DURHAM, N.C. — Durham police have ruled a double fatal shooting at an office complex near South Square Wednesday afternoon a domestic murder-suicide.

Police said Millicent Lavon Blair-Arnett, 40, and Anthony Carl Arnett, 45, both of Durham, were divorced from each other.

Around 3:20 p.m., police were called to the Duke Forest Place office building in the 3300 block of Durham-Chapel Hill Boulevard, where they found Blair-Arnett lying in the parking lot. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Arnett shot himself when officers arrived, police said. He was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

Investigators say the former couple had two children together.

A man who works at a nearby auto shop told WRAL News that he heard a man and woman arguing, then heard gunshots. When he went outside to see what was going on, he saw Arnett standing over his ex-wife's body.
