Fayetteville police ID, arrest three in shooting at McDonald's

Fayetteville police on Tuesday charged three men with robbery in connection with a shooting Monday afternoon at a Raeford Road McDonald's restaurant.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Fayetteville police on Tuesday charged three men with robbery in connection with a shooting Monday afternoon at a Raeford Road McDonald's restaurant.

Police said the trio met Darius Keyshawn Joyner, 19, of Stedman, at the restaurant for a cell phone sale. When they attempted to rob him, gunfire erupted.

Delon Russell-Dyer, 18, of the 6700 block of Willowbrook Drive, Jairron Harrington, 18, of the 1900 block of Pumpkin Road, and Dustin Lane Tippett, 17, of the 3500 block Belridge Drive face charges of robbery with a dangerous Weapon, conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon, and possession of stolen property.

All three were being held at the Cumberland County Detention Center on $50,000 secure bond apiece.

Russell-Dyer and Harrington were injured in the altercation. They were treated at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center and released to police custody. Tippett was arrested on the scene Monday.
