Two injured in Santee shooting
Two people were taken to the hospital Monday morning after a shooting erupted in a Santee neighborhood.
Posted — UpdatedThe shooting was reported just after 3 a.m. at a home in the 8700 block of Railroad Avenue, near Buena Vista Avenue.
Responding sheriff's deputies found one person with gunshot wounds lying on Railroad Avenue, while the other shooting victim was in the backyard of a nearby home.
Both were taken to the hospital. Their conditions are unknown.
10News reporter Mimi Elkalla reported a gun has been recovered.
Deputies are still investigating the circumstances that led to the gunfire.
Deputies are trying to determine if one of the people taken to the hospital is the shooter.
10News learned investigators recovered the gun used in the shooting and found several shell casings.
