Two injured in downtown Raleigh shooting

— Two men were injured Wednesday night after a shooting on Swain Street in Raleigh.

Authorities responded to a report of shots fired just after 9:30 p.m.

Two men were found with gunshot wounds and taken to a local hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries, police said.

No suspect was in custody.

No further information was available.

    That scary little convenience store should be shut down. It's not a good area, to begin with, but that place looks like a magnet for troublemakers. There's always undesirables milling around with no intention of leaving (that's how it looks to me). I wouldn't get out of my car there for anything!
    However, 1 block away from there is another convenience store that is well run, clean, well lighted, and well stocked. The management doesn't allow people to congregate outside, and the difference is night and day. They seem to have a great relationship with the locals and it feels safe when you go in. It's still the same customers, and the same neighborhood, but you can see and feel the difference. It just goes to show that you don't have to have a ghetto store, no matter where it is

    I'd said pretty good, but nobody cares because the police were not involved until after the fact.
