Two injured in Durham wreck

— Two people were injured in a wreck at U.S. Highway 70 near Durham Friday morning, authorities said.

It appeared that a truck t-boned a car in the westbound lanes of U.S. 70, near the intersection with Pleasant Drive.

Authorities said that one of the injured was transported to Duke Hospital. An update on the victims' conditions was not available.

Two westbound lanes of U.S. 70 were closed for about an hour after the wreck.

    The problem with this intersection is that people on U. S. 70 run the red light. I used to take this route to take my son to school every morning. And we were almost killed at this corner because a semi ran the red light behind another semi that had had already just run the red light. The only reason we weren't hit and killed in a T-bone was because I had to wait for the first semi to pass the corner while that truck had the red light and didn't even see the second semi following it because I was looking right, had to wait and didn't see the other semi running the red light from the left. It's a perfect intersection for red light cameras.

    Doesn't appear to be at the traffic lights so not sure what happened here, but traveling this road daily, people are always running the red lights. Just stop people... is it really worth it!

    There seems to be an accident at this location at least several times a month. Can't figure out why.
