The solution is up to those who have far more knowledge of the means in which to address it. I hope the time is soon that many people will speak up against the notion that the right to own a gun is more important than the safety of the public at large.

anne - so what is your answer?

At some point we have to agree that the proliferation of handguns must be addressed. Clearly, the fact that they must be registered by law does not control the sale and possession that is under the radar. It is unenforceable and those of us who do not carry weapons 24/7 are left at the mercy of these people who are apparently desensitized to brutality, having been exposed to guns and violence as a means to an end that is acceptable in the culture of gangs and the like.

Kilroywashere, we both know why there is a difference. I've said it a million times, portrayal of a city is provided by news and others that don't live in Durham, but even facts of the 2 cities sometimes can't change a negative perception. What people are thought to be more in Durham, than in Raleigh? I too will look pass the elephant in the room.

Welcome to the the Bull City , baby.

It's weird the story on the Durham shooting has a link to the crime map, but the Raleigh story on the kidnapping doesn't. I wonder why?
